here's one fun project from late summer; inspired by the door to Grant Wood's studio, and custom made for Mary Bywater-Cross. i'll be making some more of these for sale, or custom-painted to order. sorry 'bout the crappy photo, but i don't have access to it again until next summer.
Then I made my own version; I think Linda Hudson has this one? I don't know where it ended up!
I moved back to Lopez Island in 2023 after 6 years in La Conner.
Now it's 2026 and I am literally buried in signpainting jobs!
I am trying to get this blog updated, but the big gap in work is the period between 2017-2023 when I lived in La Conner and did only a few signs (all going back to Lopez, except the car).
Welcome to my online sign portfolio! It is by no means chronologically arranged, or complete. Signs are generally designed by myself and the customer, cooperatively. I can work with an existing logo, font and/or color scheme, or help you develop a new design. Sometimes, I am given free creative reign, but I do prefer to have some guidelines to work with.
My pricing is based on time and materials. All signs are painted on exterior grade plywood or MDO with exterior paints. I strive to create a beautiful and durable object. Here in the islands, my signs are enduring sun, wind and salt spray pretty well. Thanks for checking out my portfolio!
